the fake nails

are gonna have to go.

i've got a fun teal mermaid almond shape set on right now. I'm really enjoying the dopamine hit I receive from looking at them, but I do enough typing at my job that they make me feel dysfunctional. Like I'm obviously typing this out just fine, but it takes a different and specific kind of effort. I have to really think about and aim my finger pads to land just right on the keys. and even still, i'm erroring over 50% of the time.

As a perfectionist, it just won't do. But that bums me out because I love the look and feel of them in almost every other aspect of my life, except typing, which I do so regularly that it makes long nails a nuisance. It also prevents me from practicing guitar (or gives me an excuse to not be able to practice and so thus thwarting my guilt and shame at the nails that did nothing but exist).

And it pains me that I've only had these nails on for six days. SIX DAYS. And they're already driving me crazy. Why can't I get to live my life the way I want, with nails?
